Charlotte – Parent Consultant

I have worked in the early years sector for over 15 years. Working with children is a career choice I have always found so rewarding. In my younger years I always leaned into finding a job in education and whilst at university I found my vocation – to work in the early years. I then completed my bachelor's degree in early Years and Childhood Studies all the while gaining work experience in a nursery. Upon completing my degree, I took the decision to move to London and undergo my Montessori diploma. With my degree, diploma and work experience under my belt I began working in nurseries. Throughout my work life I have further trained myself on topics such as:

Level 2 SEND
Encouraging positive behaviour
Biting in the early years
Early years management

I now have two young children of my own and face the many challenges of parenting babies and toddlers. Through The Adventures of Parenting, I am able to support parents with my experience and knowledge as well as share my own parenting stories and struggles.

Lisa – Parent Consultant

I have always wanted to work with children since studying child development at school and doing a work placement. However, when I left school, I found myself doing something less rewarding. It wasn't until I had my first child, and she told me at two “I want to be a horse doctor” that I knew I needed to do what I truly loved – working with children. I found my dream job at a nursery and haven't looked back since. I've gone on to develop my knowledge by completing the following qualifications:

Level 3 SEND, and a 2, 3, 4 diploma in SEND
Level 2 and 3 in child development
Level 2 Teaching Assistant
Level 1 and 2 British Sign Language
Level 1 and 2 Makaton
Level 3 in Safeguarding and Designated Safeguarding Lead
Level 3 in Child Psychology
EYFS Teaching Diploma

I am currently studying my level 5 in Childcare and throughout my career I have upskilled myself on a variety of trainings such as:

Understanding our senses
Improving children’s learning through play
Understanding and addressing behaviour in the early years
Understanding speech and language in the early years
Understanding speech, language and communication
Supporting children that bite

The last nine years have been thoroughly rewarding and the best decision I have ever made. It is my true passion to share my knowledge and experiences with families, and to support their needs. With The Adventures of Parenting, I feel I can reach more people. I am so grateful to be able to use this platform to continue to support children and families in this way.
